Philosophy

The Center for Independent Living of Central Pennsylvania (CILCP) is a nonprofit, nonresidential organization established for and by people with disabilities. To empower people with disabilities to fully participate in all aspects of society is the guiding principle of the CILCP.

The CILCP offers services to people with disabilities living in Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry, Mifflin and Juniata counties. Services are also available to families of individuals with disabilities, community service providers, governmental agencies, and private businesses.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Center for Independent Living of Central Pennsylvania is to advance the rights of persons with disabilities through the elimination and prevention of barriers that people with disabilities experience. Community participation is an integral part of the Center for Independent Living of Central Pennsylvania's activities.

• Consumer Control - We believe that individuals receiving services (consumers) have the right and responsibility to make their own decisions regarding services.

• Respect & Dignity - We place a high degree of value on each person we encounter and expect it in return.
• Accountability - We believe that as an agency we have a tremendous responsibility to you, and in order to provide quality service, we hold each person accountable for accomplishing his or her specific duties.
• Confidentiality - We believe it is important to keep information that is shared with us confidential. We adhere to a strict confidentiality policy regarding our customers.
