Lynn Stewart comes to the IL Consultants as the LHOT Director (Local Housing Options Team). She has been addressing housing issues with the LHOT since April 2003. Along with her duties as LHOT Director she also sits on the Board of Directors of the Self-Determination Housing Project (SDHP). Lynn is also the agency representative for the SDHP and the Housing Alliance of PA. She is an active member of the Coalition against Chronic Homelessness and the State Housing Specialist group. She holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Administration of Justice and Counseling from Penn State University, University Park Pa. and an Associates of Letters, Arts and Sciences from Penn State University, York PA.

Ms. Stewart’s human service experience spans 18 years, with the past 12 working in the mental health field. She has held a variety of positions from hands on fieldwork as a case manager, Intensive Case Manager Supervisor and Program Manager for a vocational rehabilitation program. In her experience, Ms. Stewart has worked in all aspects of mental health. Her supervisory skills focus on team building, a strong knowledge of community programs and resources, and network building. Additional strengths Ms. Stewart possesses are the ability to assist struggling programs, review goals, staff positions and develop programs to become financially solvent. Under the housing umbrella, Ms. Stewart offers information on building effective housing teams and identifying innovative housing resources and practices.

Ms. Stewart has worked for over 8 years with non-profit social organizations, developing a volunteer training program and overseeing large fundraising events. She is also a certified Crisis Prevention Institute Instructor and has trained hundreds of participants.
