Personal Assistance Services significantly increases a person's ability to work, live, and attend school independently in the community.  Its focus is to provide a Consumer with assistance and maintenance of activities of daily living.  These include personal hygiene, transferring to and from a motor vehicle or wheelchair, meal preparation and eating, as well as household chores such as shopping, laundry, and light cleaning.

There are 3 models of Personal Assistance Services:

1. Agency Option (also known as CILCP PAS Department) - With this option, Consumers utilize CILCP Personal Assistant Services (PAS) to hire, train, pay, fire, and assign personal assistants to the Consumer.

2. Consumer Employer Option (also known as CILCP Payroll Services) - With this option, consumers can use the CILCP Payroll Services to assist them to take charge of any and all aspects of their personal assistance services including recruitment and termination of their attendants while allowing the CILCP Payroll Services to act as their fiscal agent only, handling issuance of checks to their attendants and paying all payroll taxes.

3. Combination Option - Consumers also may combine the agency and Consumer options for delivery of their service.
