Q. What is Personal Assistance Services (PAS)? A. PAS are in-home assistance with bathing, dressing, meal preparation and housekeeping. These services differ from traditional homemaker and chore services in that they recognize the consumer's right to make decisions regarding the level and intensity of care; provide hands-on personal care services; and are available at any time depending on the consumer's needs.
Q. How do I apply for Personal Assistance Services? A. To begin the eligibility process for individuals under 60 years of age in Cumberland, Dauphin , Perry , Mifflin and Juniata counties: contact United Cerebral Palsy of Central PA for at 717-737-3477. However if you live in York county, contact United Disabilities Services at 717-397-1841. If you are 60 years of age or older, contact your local Area Agency on Aging.
Q. How often can I receive Personal Assistance Services? A. Your service hours are based upon your state approved personal centered support service plan, developed by you and your service coordinator.
Q. Is there a cost for Personal Assistance Services? If you are receiving waiver services there are no out of pocket costs for our services. However, if you receive ACT 150 services there may be a fee.
Q. Can I receive Personal Assistance Services where I live? A. A service depends on your location. Most cities in Pennsylvania have personal assistance service providers. If you are wavier eligible, you should receive a list of waiver providers in your area and the option to elect which provider you wish to utilize.

Q. Who will hire my Personal Assistant and is there a limit to how many personal assistants I may employ at one time? A. CILCP Payroll Services gives you the greatest degree of choice in hiring your personal assistants.
Q. Am I able to offer my Personal Assistants benefits? A. CILCP Payroll Services offers a limited Health Insurance coverage benefit, a Longevity Bonus which consists of a cash bonus throughout the year to eligible Personal Assistants, $25.00 referral bonus when a consumer that is referred selects CILCP as their provider of choice, and CILCP Payroll Services will match any other provider’s hourly rate of pay for their Personal Assistant.
Q. What Services are provided by CILCP Payroll Services?
Q. How much will this service cost me? A. All of the Payroll Services provided to you are paid through your approved PA Home and Community Based Waiver Services. You will not experience any unexpected out of pocket expenses, unless you are receiving services in the ACT 150 Attendant Care Program. Persons who want to private pay, will experience fees for the service, as well as, the cost of paying wages for their employee. |
