Jane McCraw, Director of Employee Relations/Office Services After a serious back injury ended her career in the entertainment/restaurant field, she took a job as an Administrative Assistant in Human Resources with the City of Harrisburg. After two more years, and discovering a new passion, labor relations, Jane was promoted to a Labor Relations Officer. After 5 more years, and 60 credit hours of labor relations and employment law training at Cornell's School of Industrial and Labor Relations, she became the first Director of Labor Relations for the City.
After four more years, her work with the City came to an abrupt end when her entire office (and many others) was abolished due to the budget crisis. Losing your job when you've recently entered your fifties is devastating stuff. Strangely, after all of that, she found herself in a place where she can use her favorite skills and background, the Center for Independent Living of Central PA, a place where she has become passionate about her work once again.
