THE CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING OF CENTRAL PA
HIRES NEW PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANT SCHEDULER
(Camp Hill, Pa.) - The Center for Independent
Living of Central Pennsylvania (CILCP) announces that Tineka
Binion has joined the organization as a personal care
attendant (PCA) scheduler. CILCP is a nonprofit,
nonresidential organization serving people with
disabilities, as well as their family members, community
service providers, government agencies, and private
businesses. Their mission is to advance the rights of people
with disabilities through the elimination and prevention of
lifestyle barriers.
As the PCA scheduler, Binion is responsible for the daily
functions of the attendant care program. Her duties include
scheduling and assigning attendants on a daily basis, and
maintaining and updating the scheduling software with
employee and consumer information. Moreover, Binion handles
consumer and PCA relations and payroll of 30 personal care
attendants and employees. Upon her arrival to the
organization, Binion established and implemented an array of
new procedures, policies and forms. She also has created a
new PCA hire packet, which did not exist prior to her
arrival.
"We are excited to have Tineka join our organization. We
feel that her values and dedication to our cause will be a
key asset in enhancing CILCP," said Margo Wright, CILCP
director of the attendant care program.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Binion possesses a strong
background in human resources and business administration.
She considers herself to be a "self-appointed advocate for
the proper education of people with disabilities," and
firmly believes that "everyone should have equal
opportunities in life no matter what their affliction." She
is instrumental in the support and campaign for Breast
Cancer Awareness and research; moreover, she is dedicated to
fundraising efforts and cancer education, especially for Fox
Chase Cancer Center and the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer
Foundation. Binion expresses her enthusiasm for CILCP by
stating, "I've learned that CILCP is more than just another
establishment or place to work; it is a step towards freedom
for those who have not been given the opportunity to help
themselves." Binion resides in Mechanicsburg with her
five-year-old daughter and fiancée.
