(Camp Hill, Pa.) - Residents of the Steelton
area will gather on Thursday, April 19, 2007 to discuss
ideas, concerns and suggestions addressing the needs of
people with disabilities in their communities.
There will be a public meeting held by the Center of
Independent Living of Central Pennsylvania (CILCP) at the
Hoy Towers in Steelton. The meeting will run from 1:30-3:00
p.m. (Other dates and times of meetings are listed below.)
"CILCP supports and encourages people with disabilities
in living more independently; therefore, we need positive
feedback from a number of community members to determine
what can be done to improve living conditions for people
with disabilities," Theotis Braddy, CILCP executive director
says. "We believe that open communication in this type of
public forum is an excellent way to create new ideas."
During the public meeting people in the community will
have the opportunity to express their thoughts on the
current conditions they think hinder or help people with
disabilities. CILCP aims to develop new ideas to improve the
community for all residents. CILCP is dedicated to improving
the lives of people with disabilities. The organization is
run and administered by people with disabilities. CILCP's
mission is to break down the barriers that people with
disabilities face.
The Steelton meeting is being held at the Hoy Towers, 301
Mohn St., Steelton, Pa. and is open to anyone interested.
CILCP will be holding similar meetings in Harrisburg, Pa. on
April 25, Lykens, Pa. on May 3, Lewistown, Pa. on May 17,
