(Camp Hill, PA) - In an effort to assist the local community, Prudential Thompson Wood Real Estate presented a check for $6,312 to the Center for Independent Living of Central Pennsylvania (CILCP) on Tuesday, May 25, 2004.

CILCP is a non-profit organization committed to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities through the elimination and prevention of barriers they experience. Offering services to people with disabilities living in Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry, Mifflin and Juniata counties, CILCP also assists families of people with disabilities, community service providers, governmental agencies and private businesses.

Thompson Wood hosted an annual Christmas auction to generate funds for a local organization with a proven track record of benefiting the community. "Every year we choose an organization and donate the proceeds generated from the auction to them. The Center for Independent Living is an excellent organization that helps many Central Pennsylvanians," said Vi Thompson, President of Prudential Thompson Wood Real Estate.

Consisting of 35 real estate professionals, all of whom are relocation specialists, Thompson Wood is among the largest Prudential Real Estate Affiliates in Central Pennsylvania. A full service real estate company, Thompson Wood offers a free comparative market analysis, guarantee sale program and an award winning Website containing all local listings.

"Thompson Wood has always shown a strong dedication to the community," said David Reager, Vice President of the CILCP Board of Directors. "Whether they are donating to an organization like CILCP or assisting people in their search for a home, they are always doing something to benefit the community."

According to CILCP, the donation will be used to enhance the organization's many services including independent living training, attendant care, community advocacy and monitoring the quality of living for persons with mental retardation, as well as consumer employer payroll services, providing housing opportunities for people with disabilities and a training/outreach project.

"At the Center for Independent Living we are committed to going above and beyond the expectations of our customers in an effort to serve them better," said Theotis Braddy, Executive Director for CILCP. "Thompson Wood shares this same commitment to excellence and has exceeded any expectations with their contributions to the community"
