TAMMI GRIFFIE JOINS CILCP AS IM4Q
ASSISTANT
(Camp Hill, Pa.) - The Center for Independent
Living of Central Pennsylvania (CILCP) announces that Tammi
Griffie has joined the organization as an IM4Q (Independent
Monitoring for Quality Project) assistant according to
Theotis Braddy, CILCP's executive director.
CILCP is a nonprofit, nonresidential organization
established to advance the rights of people with
disabilities through the elimination and prevention of
barriers.
"Tammi is a caring and dedicated person who believes in
the objectives of CILCP and the IM4Q program," Braddy said.
"She will be a strong asset to our team."
As an IM4Q assistant, Griffie will help CILCP implement
the program. The IM4Q is part of a statewide independent
monitoring initiative. The project has been implemented in
Juniata, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Cumberland, Perry and Dauphin
Counties. Independent monitoring provides consumers of
mental retardation services with a means to express their
quality of life.
Through IM4Q, independent monitors who are trained by
CILCP will gather information by visiting and interviewing
consumers using a survey format. CILCP seeks people with
disabilities, family members, retired people, college
students and others to conduct the interviews.
Griffie says that her commitment to the community is one
of the reasons she went to CILCP. "I have a strong desire to
help others in my community. The IM4Q program allows me to
do that," she said.
A lifelong resident of Carlisle, Griffie uses a
wheelchair as a result of a diving accident when she was 14.
She graduated from Carlisle High School and earned an
Associates Degree in criminal justice from HACC. She has
previously worked as a monitor for people serving house
arrest.
The Center for Independent Living of Central Pennsylvania
is a nonprofit, nonresidential organization established for
and by people with disabilities and serves Cumberland,
Dauphin, Perry, Mifflin and Juniata counties. CILCP's vision
is to empower people with disabilities to fully participate
in all aspects of society. For more information on the CILCP
