ELIZABETHVILLE COMMUNITY TO ADDRESS NEEDS OF
PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
Center for Independent Living of Central PA to hold
public meeting in Elizabethville on August 23
(Camp Hill, Pa.) - Residents of the
Elizabethville area will gather on Tuesday, August 23 to
discuss ideas, concerns and suggestions addressing the needs
of people with disabilities in their communities.
There will be two public meetings held by the Center of
Independent Living of Central Pennsylvania (CILCP) at the
Upper Dauphin Human Services Center in Elizabethville. The
first meeting will run from 1-3 p.m. and the second will be
held from 4-6 p.m.
"Our goal is to obtain positive feedback from a number of
community members to determine what can be done to improve
living conditions for people with disabilities, so we can
support them in living more independently," Theotis Braddy,
CILCP Executive Director says. "We believe that open
communication in this type of public forum is an excellent
way to create new ideas."
During the public meetings people in the community will
have the opportunity to express their thoughts on the
current conditions they think hinder or help people with
disabilities. CILCP aims to develop new ideas to improve the
community for all residents.
CILCP is dedicated to improving the lives of people with
disabilities. The organization is run and administered by
people with disabilities. CILCP's mission is to break down
the barriers that people with disabilities face.
The Elizabethville meetings are being held at the Upper
Dauphin Human Services Center at 20 Clearfield Street in
Elizabethville and they are open to anyone interested. CILCP
will be holding similar meetings in Harrisburg on August 25
and New Bloomfield on August 30. For more information on the
