Become a Leader in Disability Advocacy
Are you a leader of an organization wanting to promote independent living, a person with a disability, a family member of someone with a disability, or an individual wanting to make a difference for people with disabilities?

Whether you want to change the world, your community, or take greater control of your own life, The Resource Center for Disability Advocates has the information and training you need to take action -- and it's free.

Obtain Assistance Through the Resource Center
Through a grant from the PA Developmental Disabilities Council, we provide training, technical assistance and consulting to individual community groups and organizations in order to help them achieve their missions. Our expert guidance is designed to support all levels of advocates from organizations that have been serving people with disabilities for many years to individuals that want to make a difference but aren't sure how to get started.

Educate Yourself Through Overview Workshops
Whether you're trying to get started or want to learn how to make your voice be heard, The Resource Center for Disability Advocates conducts overview workshops across the state of Pennsylvania that will educate you in the basic areas of advocacy. A top expert in the field of advocacy will provide you with the training and materials you need to start making a difference for those with disabilities.

Scheduled overview workshops may cover four basic areas of advocacy:

  • Putting an Action Plan Together
  • Getting & Keeping Your Group Organized
  • Networking -- Getting a Louder Voice
  • Deciding Which Advocacy Actions to Take
