The Resource Center for Disability Advocates | News & Articles | Press Release
Resource Center's Electronic Newsletter Helps Advocates Better Serve People with Disabilities The
e-newsletter was distributed to more than 400
advocates in Pennsylvania. The communication tool enhances the partnership between the Resource Center and leaders of grassroots organizations, people with disabilities, family members of people with disabilities and individuals wanting to make a difference for people with disabilities and their communities. The e-newsletter was distributed to more than 400 advocates in Pennsylvania, including leaders of the United Cerebral Palsy, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, statewide Centers for Independent Living and many other notable groups, as well as individuals leading causes within their communities. The Resource Center e-newsletter is an advocacy guide, providing content significant to individuals and groups interested in learning how to better serve people with disabilities. It gives an inside glimpse of topics including: fundraising, grant writing, the start-up process, sensitivity training, financial management, technical assistance, independent living, strategic planning, organizational management and the legislative process. It also provides information on upcoming free workshops and trainings, and how to receive consultation if interested. Advocates currently not receiving the electronic newsletter may send an email to mkurtz@hersheyphilbin.com to be included in the bi-monthly subscription. There is no cost to subscribe. The Resource Center for Disability Advocates is initiated through the Center for Independent Living of Central Pennsylvania, a nonprofit, nonresidential organization established for and by people with disabilities. CILCP's vision is to empower people with disabilities to fully participate in all aspects of society.
