Ticket to Work
Social security has several work incentives for persons to choose from while transitioning to the work force. The Ticket to Work program gives choice to persons with disabilities in employment and receiving Vocational Rehabilitation Services while working. It removes barriers when choosing medical benefits, and insures that people with disabilities can participate in the work force and not rely as much on public benefits. Medical benefits will not be taken away from applicants who are receiving Social Security and are participating in the Ticket to Work program.

Medical Assistance for Workers with Disabilities
Medical Assistance for Workers with Disabilities (MAWD) is a medical program that workers with disabilities can use to still receive their medical benefits while working. People with disabilities can still receive Medicaid while working even if they are making more money. The MAWD program works like regular health care services. Individuals pay a monthly premium to receive medical coverage while working. The monthly premium is low and is based on 5% of monthly available income.
For more information about MAWD or to apply go to www.compass.state.pa.us.
